Frank Illiano Biography
Francesco "Frank" Illiano was born in 1962 in the Italian town of Monte di Procida – the eighth of
twelve children. He left home at the age of 12 and worked full time in a traditional Italian family
restaurant. In his early twenties, after serving with the Merchant Marine in the Mediterranean and
Northern Africa,

- Married and become a United States citizen.
- Continued to build one of central Maryland’s most successful family restaurant chains.
- Developed a portfolio of commercial real estate holdings.
- Become a central figure in his local community.
Frank has worked hard to become a central figure in his local community of Mount Airy, devoting
personal and financial support to countless charitable and fundraising efforts:
- New York J & P Pizza in Mount Airy supports and sponsors kids’ teams in MAYAA (Mount Airy
Youth Athletic Assoc), LUYAA (Linganore and Urbana Youth Athletic Assoc) and the Four
County Little League. - Frank is organizer of the annual Taste of Mount Airy fundraiser for MAYAA and is currently
working to develop new playing fields for the town. - He has been awarded Rotary Club Citizen of the Year, Mount Airy Outstanding Person of the
Year and one of Frederick County’s Most Beautiful People (in recognition of volunteering). - He is on the board of the Maryland Restaurant Association, serves on the Mount Airy
Economic Development Commission and is a member of the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of
Commerce. - He serves as a member of the Advisory Board, Sandy Spring Bank.
